After encountering a mysterious stranger at her grandfather’s memorial, Akari is given a prop from an unfinished film - an innocuous-looking ink brush - and is told that it is the key to preventing the end of the world. Akari and her geeky kaiju-obsessed classmate Takuya are immediately whisked away to a fantastical island inhabited by strange and fascinating monsters and must face Orochi, the mythological eight-headed dragon that threatens to destroy everything.

 

Brush of the God is the directorial debut of the late Keizo Murase, a legend of special effects and design in kaiju cinema, who passed away in December 2024.​​
